Welcome to a New Term!

Today we start off by going through the term planner together. It's on the right hand side of the blog for easy access.
After that we are going to do an introduction to Jeffrey Archer.
The BBC has compiled a lot of information about him. Here is the link.
The question is who is Jeffrey Archer?
Archer can be compared with the characters in his own stories. We will watch the three short clips to give you an idea about what I mean (sorry about the quality of the pictures!)
To make life easier here is a short document telling a bit about the life of Jeffrey Archer.

Our first story in the book of short stories called "A Twist in the Tale" is The Perfect Murder.
Your homework for next Thursday is to do the following two worksheets:-
1. Some general questions about the story
2. As I explained before Christmas each story has a theme and an area of vocabulary.
In the case of The Perfect Murder many words are to do with the judiciary (rättsväsandet).
I want you to complete the worksheet I gave you last time.

The interesting thing about the story is the fact that it is quite autobiographical.
There are many parallels between the narrator in the story and Jeffrey Archer.
Try to find three parallels.

Well that should be enough for today. Next time we will be working with the Reading and listening parts of the National Test. I will give you some tips and material to use for practising these important areas.
